Cabinet issues slew of decisions

Prime Minister Dr. Bishr Khasawneh congratulated Jordanian Christians on the occasion of Easter holiday. Chairing a Cabinet session on Sunday, Khasawneh said this occasion is “dear to all people of the country”. On the other hand, the Council of Ministers approved the mandating reasons for amendments of Specialized Tourist Transport Licensing Bylaw for 2023, and sent it to the Legislation and Opinion Bureau to complete issuance of procedures duly, giving it the status of urgency. The bylaw aims to keep pace up with the “high” volume of reservations for domestic and foreign tourist groups compared to previous years. The regulation was also made since tourist companies did not benefit from the previous Cabinet decision that gave a deadline to rectify their situation due to Covid-19 pandemic repercussions, which entered into force shortly after the decision was issued. In addition, the Cabinet approved the validating reasons for an amended bylaw for administrative costs for services provided by Department of Lands and Surveys (DLS) for 2023, as the new Land Registration Fees Law No. (7) of 2023 was endorsed. The bylaw details fees collected by DLS for land transactions and scraps clash in its articles, by amending the original text to dodge duplication or irregularity in collecting the due fees.
