Gaza Strip: Death toll from Israeli war rises to 30,320

Gaza: The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza said Saturday that the death toll from the Israeli war rose to 30,320 and the injured to 71,533 as relentless bombing continued for the 148th day.

It said Israeli occupation forces carried out 10 massacres in the last 24 hours that claimed 92 lives and injured 156.

It said civil defense teams recovered the body of a man from the Nabulsi Circle in Gaza City, bringing to 116 the number of people killed while trying to get flour.

The ministry also said 13 children died at Kamal Adwan Hospital due to malnutrition and shortages of medicine.

In Beit Hanoun in northern Gaza, 3 people were killed and seven injured as Israeli artillery bombardment targeted a group of people trying to pick herbs to satisfy their hunger as the occupation army continued to bar the entry of aid into the enclave.

In the southern town of Rafah, an Israeli drone targeted a civilian vehicle in the Al-Shaboura neighborhood, killing two people and wounding a third, and all of them were trans
ferred to the Kuwaiti Hospital, said the ministry.

It also said many bodies remained buried under rubble or on roads, as the occupation forces prevented ambulance and civil defense crews from reaching them.

SALAM PARTICIPATES IN WTO 13TH MINISTERIAL CONFERENCE


Caretaker Minister of Trade and Economy, Amin Salam, participated in the preparatory meeting for the 13th Ministerial Conference of the World Trade Organization.

Salam expressed the importance of strengthening trade and economic cooperation between Arab countries in the face of current regional and global challenges.

Salam reviewed “the efforts made to integrate Arab countries into the global economy and the necessity of joint action to strengthen their trade positions and protect their interests in international negotiations.”

In a related context, Salam touched on the crisis in Lebanon, expressing his hope that the ongoing reforms would contribute to restoring economic stability and enhancing international confidence in Lebanese trade policies.

Salam also called for “supporting Lebanon in its efforts to join the World Trade Organization.”

He reaffirmed “the hope that the meeting will be a starting point for strengthening joint Arab action and contributing to achieving the aspirations of the Arab people
s towards advancement and progress.”

10 killed in Israeli drone strikes in Rafah

Gaza: Paramedic Abdel Fattah Abu Marei was among ten people who were killed by Israeli drones at noon Saturday outside the Emirati Hospital in the Tal Al-Sultan neighborhood, west of Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip, the Gaza Health Ministry said.

It said the paramedics was killed in the line of duty and nine people were killed when drones targeted a tent housing displaced Gazans in Tal Al Sultan near the hospital.

Jordan Women’s Conference Kicks off

Amman: Lower House Speaker Ahmad Safadi said Saturday that the legislature has passed a political modernization package that paved the way for wider participation and representation by women and youth.

In opening remarks at a conference on Jordanian women in the national modernization scheme, Safadi said women’s empowerment has been a key focus of His Majesty the King, noting the introduction of the women’s quota system and women holding key leading positions in the Jordanian state.

The legislative package, he pointed out, made women’s presence in party lists mandatory, which raised their representation in Parliament, in addition to the quota seats, which should enhance their opportunities in the economic and administrative sectors.

For her part, Assistant Arab league Secretary-General Haifa Abu Ghazaleh said a strong women’s political and economic participation is a pivotal goal in the Arab region.

The Arab League, she said, has sought to adopt strategies to enhance women’s role in the political track, a
dding that the organization adopted the “Arab Women’s Development Agenda (2023-2028) at summit level.

Russia ‘concerned’ over Israel’s plans to attack Gaza’a Rafah

Moscow: Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Saturday that Moscow is “concerned” over Israel’s intention to attack the city of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip.

He said Russia is “concerned” about Israeli plans to carry out a military operation in Rafah, where two-thirds of the Gazans are seeking shelter from violence.

He added, “If the operation of Rafah begins, a huge number of refugees will leave for Egypt, and the Egyptians have repeatedly stated that this is unacceptable. This will be ethnic cleansing in fact.”

At least 17 Palestinians killed in Israeli bombardment on houses in Deir al-Balah and Jabalia of Gaza


Occupied Jerusalem, At least 17 Palestinians were martyred and dozens were injured in the Israeli occupation air strikes on homes in Deir al-Balah and Jabalia in the stricken Gaza Strip.

Palestinian media reported that the occupation aircraft bombed three houses east of the city of Deir al-Balah in the center of Gaza and in Jabalia camp to the north, killing 17 Palestinians and injuring dozens, indicating that civil defense staff are still searching for victims under the rubble.

Tens of Palestinians were martyred and others were injured yesterday as a result of bombing by the occupation forces on different areas in Gaza. According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, the number of martyrs from the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Strip since October 7th reached 30,228 martyrs.
