International astronomy sets the date of Eid al-Fitr in 8 countries

Bethlehem – Together – The International Astronomy Center has identified 8 countries that will announce Wednesday, the first day of Eid al-Fitr 2024, according to astronomical calculations.

The Center specified the countries in which the month of Ramadan began on Monday, March 11, and will be on Tuesday, April 9, completing the holy month in them, provided that the final opinion on the date of Eid al-Fitr for the Arab and Islamic countries to see the crescent will be according to what is announced by the official authorities responsible for this, which is the Egyptian Fatwa House.

There are 8 countries that declare Wednesday, April 10, the first day of Eid al-Fitr, according to astronomical calculations. They are the countries that began fasting on Monday, March 11, and they are:

Egypt.

Saudi Arabia.

The UAE.

Qatar.

Syria.

Kuwait.

Algeria.

The International Astronomy Center confirmed that expectations indicate, according to astronomical studies, that the reconnaissance crescent will b
e able to be seen using a telescope in the countries of the East of the world and South Africa, and the possibility of seeing the crescent with the naked eye is difficult from central Asia and the center of the African continent, and seeing the crescent is possible with the naked eye relatively easily from West Asia, and he explained. The sighting of the crescent will take place on Monday, April 8, and astronomical calculations indicate that Tuesday, April 9, will complete the blessed month of Ramadan.

Releasing inmates covered by pardon law begins: PSD

Amman: The general pardon ordered by His Majesty King Abdullah II is a royal honor that came during the holy month of Ramadan and has had a good and positive impact among inmates since His Majesty directed the government to implement it, said Brigadier General Falah Majali, Director of the Rehabilitation and Correction Centers Department at the Public Security Directorate (PSD).

Majali added that PSD Director, Major General Obaidullah Maaytah, instructed to utilize all capabilities to implement the law, in full coordination with the judicial authorities, in order to ensure the implementation of this pardon in a manner befitting this royal honor.

He stressed that the PSD has completed all legal and administrative procedures related to its work related to the implementation of this honor since the issuance of the royal decree to endorse the General Pardon Law of 2024 and its publication in the Official Gazette.

Majali confirmed that since this morning, public prosecutors have begun releasing inmates covered
by the pardon, noting that the administrative release procedures carried out by the rehabilitation and correction centers do not exceed 15 minutes, and include matters of handing over cash or in-kind items, etc.

Majali called on the pardoned inmates to use the pardon as an incentive to move forward in their lives and among their community as active members away from criminal behavior.

International relief organizations call for urgent action for Rafah

Gaza – Together – 13 human rights and relief organizations warned countries about the need to ‘take urgent measures to prevent crimes against humanity’ in the city of Rafah in the Gaza Strip.

The statement explained that the Israeli government “clearly” revealed its intention to expand its military operations in Rafah, ignoring the binding resolution issued by the Security Council demanding an immediate ceasefire.

The statement indicated that humanitarian and human rights organizations have repeatedly warned that the planned Israeli ground attack against Rafah ‘will destroy the lives and humanitarian aid of more than 1.3 million civilians.’

Gaza Ministry Reports 59 Casualties in Gaza in 24 Hours

Gaza: The Gaza Ministry of Health has reported five separate massacres perpetrated by the Israeli occupation forces in the Gaza Strip over the past 24 hours, which claimed the lives of 59 individuals and left 83 others wounded.

The report underscores the severe humanitarian toll of the ongoing Israeli aggression, now spanning 180 days, as many victims remain trapped under rubble and in inaccessible areas, with ambulance and civil defense crews unable to reach these individuals.

The Ministry stated that the cumulative impact of Israeli atrocities since October 7 has resulted in a staggering toll, with 32,975 fatalities and 75,577 injuries recorded in the Gaza Strip.
