Arab League delegation arrives in Sudan

Khartoum: The Arab League delegation has arrived in the Sudanese capital, headed by Ambassador Khalil Al Thawadi, Assistant Secretary-General of the League of Arab States and Head of Arab Affairs Sector.

The delegation’s visit comes within the Arab League’s efforts and communications with Sudanese Transitional Military Council (TMC) and representatives of political and civic groups to encourage the resumption of dialogue.

Ambassador Mahmoud Afifi, Spokesman of the Arab League’s secretary-general, was quoted by Middle East News Agency (MENA), as saying that the delegation’s visit comes within context of the Arab League’s support to the Sudanese sides and inviting them to resume the negotiations after the visit of the secretary-general to the Arab country last month.
