This came during Al Jaber’s visit to Al-Azhar University as part of his tour to Egypt to get acquainted with the work progress on a number of development projects being implemented by the United Arab Emirates to support the fraternal Egyptian people.
Grand Imam of Al-Azhar praised the decades-old fraternal relations and cooperation between Egypt and the U.A.E., which stands a role model for the relations among all Islamic and Arab countries, since they are based on love and mutual respect, in addition to the keenness of both countries on working for the benefit of the two peoples and the Arab and Islamic nations.
Confirming his confidence on the UAE- Egypt ties he said, “The mentor of the Arabs, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan had always supported Egypt on many important international developments and the continuation of this support from the U.A.E’s leadership and people proves the strong relations between the two countries.” On his part, Al Jaber said that he had conveyed the greetings of the U.A.E. leadership to Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, pointing out that the visit is an opportunity to discuss the strong historic relations with Egypt in general and Al-Azhar in particular.
He added that he has briefed Al Tayyeb on the projects, being implemented by the U.A.E. in all Egyptian Governorates, which are aimed at achieving a rapid and concrete impact on all segments of the Egyptian society.
He also pointed out U.A.E.’s keenness to bolster the strong historic relations between the two fraternal countries, stressing his country’s firm support to the people of Egypt under all circumstances.
Al Jaber also added that Al-Azhar is deemed a pioneering center of sciences for centuries and its has played an important role in the preservation of the Islamic culture and identity, and reflects the true image of the tolerant message of Islam.
