SEPTEMBER 16, 2014 (REFERRING TO THE NATIONAL NEWS AGENCY – LEBANON) MP George Adwan stressed the necessity to go to extraordinary parliamentary sessions to approve urgent laws, among which is the salary scale project, which according to the deputy, has become necessary enough since “we approached a scale prone to serve the financial situation and its stability.”
Adwan’s fresh stance came Tuesday from Ain el Tineh as he met with House Speaker Nabih Berri over developments.
Turning to the presidential elections issue, Adwan said March 14’s initiative was still under consideration, explaining that a series of local meetings will be set soon to broach the issue in light of the initiative.
Separately, Berri met with UN Special Coordinator for Lebanon, Derek Plumbly, and discussed with him overall developments at the local and regional scenes.
Amongst Berri’s visitors had been former Minister Marwan Charbel, and the Secretary General of the Islamic Christian Dialogue Committee, Mohammad Sammak.
