35% increase in exhibition space for DWTC’s next year food shows

WAM DUBIA: A substantial 35% increase in exhibition space in Dubai has been allocated to the region’s top three gourmet food shows to accommodate exhibitor demand, Dubai World Trade Centre ( DWTC), organizers of the shows, said.

The three events set to take place from 17 to 19 November 2013 at DWTC are SEAFEX, the Middle East region’s biggest showcase and international trade fair for the seafood industry, the third edition of The Speciality Food Festival, the Middle East’s only dedicated gourmet and fine food trade exhibition and Sweets ‘&’ Snacks Middle East, a major platform for producers, suppliers, importers ‘&’ exporters of the sweets, confectionery, bakery and snack machinery industry from across the MENA region and GCC countries.

The increase in size to 11,500m? is due to excellent sales, strong order books and promising new business relationships reported by exhibitors at the close of three influential trade shows last month, it added.

The three food shows provide the only dedicated platforms in the Middle East for niche sectors enjoying strong growth in the region: seafood, gourmet and fine food ingredients, and confectionery and snacks, DWTC said in a press release.

The three shows welcomed 11,582 targeted food ‘&’ beverage and hospitality professionals to source new ingredients and products, identify new suppliers and secure distributor contracts for the lucrative MENA region. This year’s shows saw a 22% increase in visitors compared to 9,436 visitors in 2011.
