Jordan health minister holds separate meetings with Arab counterparts on cooperation

Jordan Health Minister Firas Hawari Thursday met with the Syrian health minister in Geneva and discussed cooperation in health and training and pharmaceutical industries. According to a statement by the Ministry of Health, the Syrian Minister of Health, Hassan Ghobash, praised the cooperation between the two countries and the assistance provided by Jordan during the earthquake that struck Syria in February 2023. Hawari, who held his meeting on the sidelines of the meeting of the Council of Arab Health Ministers and the 76th session of the World Health Assembly held, met separately with the Iraqi Minister of Health, Salih Hasnawi, and the Algerian Minister of Health, Abd al-Haq Sayhi, and discussed cooperation and exchange of experiences in food and medicine, promotion of medical tourism, and exchange of visits to follow up on the treatment of Iraqi and Algerian patients in Jordan.

US congratulate Jordan on Independence Day, lauds bilateral ties

The US government, through its Secretary of State Antony Blinken, offered its congratulation to Jordan’s leadership, government and people on the occasion of the Kingdom’s 77th Independence Day. “On behalf of the United States of America, I offer my best wishes and heartfelt congratulations to the people of Jordan as you commemorate the 77th anniversary of your independence on May 25” Blinken said in a statement that was sent to the Jordan News Agency (Petra). “On this anniversary it is fitting to celebrate the long history of friendship and partnership between our two countries and peoples. We appreciate the important role Jordan plays in promoting peace and security across the region and countering violent extremism. We also laud your commitment to implementing domestic reforms crucial to Jordan’s future prosperity” the statement cited as saying. Blinken added, “In an increasingly complex world, the United States knows we can rely on Jordan when facing difficult situations and challenges. We also remain committed to inclusive and sustainable growth in Jordan, as demonstrated through our new Memorandum of Understanding.” “We are grateful to be such close partners and friends. As you celebrate Jordan’s National Day, the United States wishes the people of Jordan peace and prosperity in the upcoming year and beyond,” Blinken concluded.
