Arab Foreign Ministers: Jeddah summit will find positive impacts on the situation in Arab countries

A number of Arab foreign ministers affirmed that the decisions that will result from the summit will find positive impacts on the situation in the Arab countries, stressing that the summit is required to draw the first lines to start facing the challenges.

Iraqi Foreign Minister Fawad Muhammad Hussein said in a statement to reporters that there are great challenges facing the Arab countries, including the Palestinian issue and the situation in Sudan and Yemen, and there are different frameworks for dealing with these challenges and problems and managing all these crises, indicating that there is an initiative by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with other countries to reach immediate cease-fire.

Hussein affirmed that Syria’s presence in the preparatory meetings and in the summit scheduled on Friday is a very important addition that marks a new phase. For his part, Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi hailed the preparations made by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which were reflected positively on the course of the preparatory ministerial meeting.

Regarding the situation in Syria, Al-Safadi said, “We are relying on the meetings of Jeddah and Amman and on the efforts of all Arab countries in order to have a leading Arab role that produces a real solution that addresses all the consequences of the crisis in Syria and ends the suffering of the Syrian people,” For his part, Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad Al-Maliki affirmed that the presence of the Syrian delegation in the Arab League meetings boosts the Palestinian stance, hoping the current Arab summit would be successful.

Syria, Iran to enhance cooperation in oil and gas domains

Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Firas Kaddour, discussed with his Iranian counterpart, Javad Auchi, aspects of bilateral enhancing cooperation in the field of oil, gas and petrochemical.

Minister Kaddour stressed the importance of implementing the agreements concluded between the two countries in a way that supports the economy and helps face challenges and overcome obstacles facing the track of progress and prosperity.

He stressed that the exchange of experiences and the signing of memorandums of understanding in the field of oil and gas industry and its derivatives contribute to the development of bilateral economic relations to the level of political relations in the interest of both countries.

President al-Assad arrives in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia to take part in the 32nd round of Arab Summit

President Bashar al-Assad arrived in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia to take part in the 32nd round of Arab Summit.

Earlier, President al-Assad, received on May 10 an invitation from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, King of the brotherly Saudi Arabia to participate in the Summit. The invitation was conveyed to His Excellency by Saudi Ambassador to Jordan, Naif bin Bandar Al-Sudairi.

President Al-Assad conveyed his greetings and thanks to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for the invitation, stressing that the upcoming Arab summit in Saudi Arabia will enhance joint Arab action to achieve the aspirations of the Arab peoples.

On Thursday morning, Presidents, Leaders and Kings of the Arab countries started to arrive in the Saudi city of Jeddah to participate in the Arab Summit scheduled on Friday.

Presidents, leaders and kings of Arab countries arrive in Jeddah to participate in the Arab summit

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Lebanese Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati arrived in Jeddah to participate in the 32nd session of the Arab League Council meeting at the summit level.

SANA correspondents noted that an intense organizing movement is taking place in Jeddah city, starting from decorating the roads with the flags of the Arab countries participating in the work of the Summit, to taking strict security measures appropriate for this important event, in addition to preparing all technical and logistical matters for the Summit venue and its media center.

According to initial information, about 15 leaders, presidents, kings and princes of Arab countries are expected to arrive to participate in the work of the Summit.

Defense Minister: Belarus continues to support Syria

Belarusian Defense Minister, Viktor Khrenin, affirmed that his country will continue to stand by Syria in the war against terrorism and providing various forms of humanitarian aid.

Khrenin s, during a meeting with the Syrian ambassador to Belarus, Muhammad al-Omrani, said that Belarus has a great desire to strengthen its bilateral relations with Syria in all fields and to participate in the reconstruction process.

Both sides discussed the strong friendship relations between the two countries and ways to enhance them in various fields, and the importance of continuing coordination between them in light of the rapid changes the world is currently witnessing and in facing similar challenges.

In turn, al-Omrani expressed the Syrian government and people appreciation for the steadfast and supportive stances of the Belarusian leadership to Syria, and for all humanitarian aid provided by it to the Syrian people.

Jaafari: Kazan Forum is a window of opportunity for Russia and Islamic world

The Syrian Ambassador in Moscow, Bashar al-Jaafari affirmed that the International Economic Forum, ‘Russia – Islamic World: Kazan Forum’ 2023 is an excellent chance to unite and resist the Western policy.

“Kazan Forum is a window of opportunity for Russia and the Islamic world to boost cooperation based on common interest,” Sputnik reported al-Jaafari as saying on the sidelines of the Forum.

He added, “Concerning the sanctions against Russia, it would be a mistake to call such measures as sanctions due to the fact that, with respect to the international law, they are considered as unjust coercive unilateral economic measures.”

“All actions undertaken by Europe, the United States, and the West in general are of a political nature. Despite the fact that they are economic, they are driven by hidden political motives.”

Al-Jaafari went on to say that “The goal of the West is to pressure Russian policy to achieve concessions that serve Western interests only; so they did with Syria.”

He concluded his speech affirming that Kazan Forum is an excellent chance to unite and to resist the Western policy, noting that Syria’s participation in the Forum is a form of cooperation and solidarity with Russia in light of the Western unilateral measures imposed on both countries.
