Iran: The US is the largest arms seller in the world

The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani affirmed that the United States was and still is the largest arms seller in the world.

According to a review conducted by the American news website The Intercept, since the end of the Cold War, America has been and still is the largest arms seller in the world, as it acquired about forty of the world’s total arms exports in one year, it also sold arms to 142 countries and regions last year, IRNA quoted Kanaani as saying on Twitter.

Kanani added that during the first financial year of US President Joe Biden’s administration, weapons worth to 206 billion dollars were sold.

A delegation from the People’s Assembly participates in the International Conference on the Constitution of Pakistan

A delegation from the People’s Assembly participated in the activities of the International Conference on the Constitution of Pakistan in the capital city of Islamabad, which was held by the National Assembly of Pakistan on the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of the proclamation of the constitution of its country in 1973.

During the speeches of the two-day conference, the Syrian delegation stressed the importance of the constitution that is in line with the needs and requirements of the people and its role in strengthening national unity and perpetuating the concept of respecting the rights and duties of all citizens equally and justly.

The delegation also talked about the development of the constitution in the Syrian Arab Republic, starting from the first constitution in 1920, and about its repeated modernization and development in order to keep pace with developments in life and the needs of citizens.

On the sidelines of the conference activities, the Syrian parliamentary delegation met with the Speaker of the Pakistani National Assembly, Raja Pervez Ashraf.

Ashraf affirmed that Pakistan has good relations with Syria, appreciating the Syrian delegation that accepted the invitation to participate in this important event for Pakistan.

For his part, Head of the Syrian delegation, Secretary of the People’s Assembly, Salloum Salloum, expressed his thanks and appreciation to Pakistan for its continuous support to Syria, especially for facing the repercussions of the earthquake disaster that occurred on the 6th of last February.

The head of the Syrian delegation stressed the importance of forming a Pakistani delegation to visit Damascus soon, with the aim of discussing ways of enhancing economic cooperation, especially with regard to reconstruction.

The Russian army repels a Ukrainian attack, downs one fighter and 25 drones

The Russian Defense Ministry announced that its forces repelled a Ukrainian attack on the direction of Solidar, eliminating more than 1,185 soldiers and mercenaries, shooting down a fighter and 25 drones, and destroying US-made weapons stores.

Russian forces thwarted in the Kobyansk axis the actions of Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance groups in the Kharkov region, eliminated 60 Ukrainian soldiers and destroyed two combat vehicles and US-made artillery, the ministry said in its daily statement on the conduct of the special military operation.

The ministry indicated that the Russian air defense systems downed a Ukrainian Su-27 fighter near the village of Chasov Yar in the Donetsk People’s Republic, and three missiles from the Himars and Yurgen multiple launch missile systems, in addition to destroying 25 Ukrainian drones in the Luhansk and Donetsk republics and the regions of Zaporozhye and Kherson.

The ministry added that the Russian forces eliminated 110 Ukrainian soldiers on the southern Donetsk and Zaporozhye axes, destroyed self-propelled artillery, and eliminated 40 Ukrainian soldiers in the Kherson axis, and destroyed an American-made M777 artillery system and a self-propelled artillery base.

Syria participates in St. Petersburg International Legal Forum

Under the chairmanship of Russian Minister of Justice Konstantin Chuychenko, an open meeting of Ministers of Justice participating in the 11th St. Petersburg International Legal Forum, entitled “International cooperation of Ministries of Justice… formulas and new perspectives”, was held, with the participation of Judge Ahmad al-Sayyed, Minister of Justice.

In speech to the meeting, Chuychenko said: “Although the powers of the Ministries of Justice differ from country to country, we are united by a common goal which is to guarantee the rule of law and the unity of the legal space of our countries”.

For his part, Judge Ahmad al-Sayyed said in his speech “ we preserved in Syria on applying the law in accordance with international standards, and despite everything that is happening in this world, we are committed to the rules international law and its humanitarian principles”, noting that Syria has issued a decree granting a general amnesty for terrorist crimes committed by Syrians, except foreigners.

In the same context, participants of the 11th St. Petersburg International Legal Forum discussed the task of building an independent economy in the face of unjust Western sanctions, the legal regulation of online media and the space economy within the framework of the sustainable development and legal support for national security in the face of current threats.

The Ministers of Justice of China, Iran, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Indonesia, Myanmar, Mali, Central African Republic, Chad, Angola, Namibia, Belarus, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Abkhazia and South Ossetia also participated in the meeting.

Sayyed Nasrallah: We support positive developments in Syria

Secretary-General of Hezbollah, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, affirmed on Friday that Washington insisted on increasing sanctions on Syria and blundering its oil, gas and wheat.

Nasrallah said in a speech to mark the 17th anniversary of the martyrdom of Mustafa Badr al-Din that it is normal to find some today change their speech towards Syria and Iran because all their bets overcome after were based on false calculations.

Sayyed Nasrallah pointed out that Syria did not change its stance , strategy or axis despite the changes that took place in the region during the last period, adding: “that all the positive developments in Syria thanked to its leadership’s steadfastness, its army and people, and we support every positive development, and with every political and military victory in Syria.”.

Foreign tourists visit the ruins of Palmyra

A group of European tourists visited the historic city of Palmyra on Friday, documenting the destruction suffered by historical monuments and tourist facilities as a result of Daesh’s terror attacks before its defeat of the region, thanks the Syrian Arab Army.

Dutchman Nick Lepaud, an information technology consultant, denounced the sabotage of this human cultural heritage.

He noted the safety he felt during his tour in Palmyra and praised the traditional atmosphere of the historic city.

For her part, British tourist Lana O’Sullivan, a writer specializing in tourism affairs, encouraged tourists from all over the world to visit Palmyra and its great human heritage.

She considered that her presence today in Palmyra, the heart of the Syrian desert, disproves the falsehoods of the Western media, since she felt security and stability during her visit, and she underlined the impressive archaeological beauty of this town.
