President al-Assad, UAE President discuss positive developments in Arab arena

President Bashar al-Assad has made a phone call with Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

During the call, the two presidents discussed the positive developments in the Arab arena as President al-Assad expressed Syria’s appreciation for the role played by the UAE for reuniting and improving Arab relations, in a way that enhances joint Arab cooperation and serves the interests of Arab countries and peoples.

Talks also dealt with the bilateral relations and the ongoing cooperation between Syria and the UAE in different domains.

Arab Parliament: Syria’s return to Arab League serves common Arab interest

The Arab Parliament has welcomed the decision of the Arab foreign ministers to resume Syria’s participation in the meetings of the Arab League Council.

In a statement posted on its website, the parliament stated that this decision comes in line with the common Arab interest and fraternal relations that unite all Arab peoples, and will contribute to strengthening and preserving the territorial integrity of Syria.

The statement noted that this step is a positive development and an important step to enhance Arab-Arab cooperation to solve the crisis in Syria.

19 Palestinians arrested in the West Bank

The Israeli occupation forces arrested 19 Palestinians on Monday in different areas in the West Bank.

The occupation forces stormed several neighborhoods in Nablus, Bethlehem and in the villages of al-Asaker, al-Arrouj and Harmala to the south, in addition to al-Jazloun Camp and Deir Abu Mash’al town in Ramallah and the towns of Ya’bad, Burqin and al-Issawiya in Jerusalem and Hableh in Qalqilya, and arrested 19 Palestinians, according to WAFA news agency.

On Sunday, 11 Palestinians were arrested in different areas in the West Bank.
