Zahra: Dialogue between Christians imposed by vacancy in presidency

JANUARY 21, 2015 (REFERRING TO THE NATIONAL NEWS AGENCY – LEBANON) MP Antoine Zahra said that the vacancy in presidency caused Lebanese sides to resort to dialogue, hoping that the dialogue would be beneficial enough to serve the national interest.

Zahra’s stance came Wednesday in the context of an interview on LBCI.

He explained that the meeting between General Michel Aoun and Lebanese Forces head Samir Geagea would take place before a series of meetings and agreements between the Free Patriotic Movement and LF.

He denied that Geagea had put a condition for the meeting with Aoun which was the latter’s withdrawal from his candidacy to presidency, indicating, “We want the republic first, we want to reach an agreement that serves the republic.”

Zahra underscored the importance of a positive dialogue to help accomplish the presidential file with a Lebanese taste.
