MUSCAT: Volkswagen Oman, in partnership with Bait al Zubair museum, has sponsored the Adam Ball exhibition at Gallery Sarah.
Titled ‘Elemental’ the exhibition opened at Gallery Sarah in Bait al Zubair museum on Tuesday and featured a selection of Adam Ball’s most recent works, including exquisite hand-crafted paper cut-outs, paintings, minimal white layered paper pieces and a light box feature piece.
Commenting on the exhibition, Andrew Squires, general manager of Wattayah Motors said, “Volkswagen is a brand that duly recognises creativity, innovation, and of course good design; we are proud to support an artist as talented as Adam Ball and his ‘Elemental’ exhibition.
In the automotive industry as elsewhere, innovation is no longer restricted to technical aspects. Creativity in design, coupled with visual expression is being given increasing prominence. Our sponsorship of arts and culture in the country is an acknowledgement of this social trend.”
“With the aim of promoting arts, heritage and culture in Oman, we are proud to host renowned UK artist Adam Ball at Gallery Sarah. With his exhibition we hope to inspire the new generation of artists in Oman with his unique and eclectic style. Ball works through a wide range of media not seen in the country before and while he is here he will be working with students and artists discussing his work and unusual style,” said Paul Doubleday, general manager of the Bait al Zubair Foundation.
Born in 1977, Adam graduated with a BA Hons in Fine Arts from the Newcastle University. He lives and works in London.
