(Update) Civil Defense fails to entirely quench Dikwaneh fire

FEBRUARY 3, 2015 (REFERRING TO THE NATIONAL NEWS AGENCY – LEBANON) Civil Defense units failed to wholly control the fire that broke out in “Khalil Matar Wood” Plant in Dikwana, whereby the fire got to the building’s roof a while ago, NNA Correspondent reported on Tuesday.

The sound of blasts was heard caused by the explosion of three Paint Thinner tanks, with fears of likely explosion of other fuel tanks.

Lebanese army helicopters will be used to help control the fire.

NNA Correspondent reported that the employee Abdulla Abi Amin is still missing.

Seven injuries ranging between burns, fractures and suffocation were reported.

The Civil Defense urged everyone to stay away from the building for fears of more explosions and the collapse of the building.

Search is still ongoing for the missing employee.
