APRIL 22, 2015 (REFERRING TO THE NATIONAL NEWS AGENCY – LEBANON) Newly appointed UNRWA Director General in Lebanon, Matthias Shmale, on Wednesday toured Ain al-Hilweh on his first official visit to the Camp, in order to have a closer look at the present conditions of the Palestinian refugees and inspect the Agency’s medical, educational and social institutions at said camp.
Shmale held a lengthy meeting with the Camp’s popular committees and held a lengthy meeting who relayed to him the concerns of refugees amidst the decline in UNRWA services, demanding a solution to this predicament, especially in light of the displacement of large numbers of refugees from Syria to Ain al-Hilweh.
Shamle. for his part, pledged utmost efforts by the Agency to find solutions to all standing matters.
