Tohmeh: Who considers Saudi against president election should resort to parliament

APRIL 28, 2015 (REFERRING TO THE NATIONAL NEWS AGENCY – LEBANON) “Future” bloc member, Deputy Nidal Tohmeh, asked on Tuesday in a statement “those who consider that the Saudi kingdom is against the election of a president to resort to the Parliament and put an end to all interventions, fulfill their duty and elect a president”.

The MP urged to swiftly elect a president in a bid to activate the state institutions and to evade vacuum.

Moreover, he called on the concerned sides to tackle the security leaders’ term extension issue, adding “security is a red line and we cannot tolerate escaping from responsibility”.

“Extending the tenure of the security leaders would be better than leaving the country in vacuum and chaos, particularly amid the absence of a president,” he highlighted.

On the other hand, he called on the deputies to approve as soon as possible the salary scale issue and consider it an urgent legislation.

“The Lebanese people should take their rights, we feel with the people and we rebuff procrastination attempts in said issue,” the lawmaker emphasized.

He asserted the need to support the Lebanese legal forces and rally around them to be able to preserve civil peace and confront terrorism.
