THIEVES DRIVE AWAY WITH CAR WHILE OWNER CHATS WITH FRIEND

MUSCAT: A car parked outside a house in Barka was stolen while its owner was meeting his friend inside. The car’s owner, Gopi Nath, had left its key in one room while he chatted with the host in another room. Nath said the incident took place last week and believes that more than one person was involved in the crime.

“I was chatting with him in an inside room while the car key was in another room. The main door of the house was not locked. “We did not know when the thieves entered the house.” Nath said that the burglars may have entered the house with the intention of stealing valuables but drove away with the car after they found its key.

“There were many costly items in the room, but all were untouched,” he said. The car was a Nissan 2012 make with registration number D 86064, he added.

“I have filed a complaint at the Barka police station. I have been in Oman for seven years and till now haven’t experienced such an incident.” According to police, details of the car have been shared with other police stations.
