Syrian arrested for involvement in soldiers’ kidnapping at Dahr elBaydar checkpoint

OCTOBER 26, 2014 (REFERRING TO THE NATIONAL NEWS AGENCY – LEBANON) Lebanese Army units arrested Sunday evening Syrian national, Ahmed Mohammed Shehab (born 1996), for involvement in the kidnapping of Lebanese soldiers in Arsal by armed groups last month, NNA correspondent in the Bekaa reported.

In details, as Shehab was on his way from Beirut to the Bekaa, carrying a fake Lebanese Identity card, he was stopped at the Army’s checkpoint in Dahr al-Baydar, where he was identified by one of his victims.

According to available information, Shehab has admitted to partaking in the kidnapping of Lebanese soldiers, whereby he was taken to the Defense Ministry for further investigation.
