MUSCAT: Standard Chartered Bank Muscat in collaboration with board of directors Indian Schools felicitated Indian school students who have proved their mettle in different fields at a ceremonious function held at Indian School Darsait recently.

Gurcharan Kadan, CEO of Standard Chartered Bank, was the chief guest. While complimenting scholarship awardees, he encouraged them to make the best use of their time to be successful in life and to bond with friends which will be everlasting.

Insherah Ghaled Ba Wazir, head of corporate affairs, Standard Chartered Bank, was the guest of honour. Members of the board of directors, members of the Indian School Darsait management committee, principal and teachers attended the function. Mathew Abraham, education advisor to the board of directors, Indian Schools gave a briefing on the scholarship that was instituted by Standard Chartered Bank in 2010.

Fifty four students from 19 Indian schools received certificates and cash awards in four different categories of achievements. Students who have excelled in pursuing the cause of environmental protection and community service, sports and performing arts were given certificates of recognition and cash awards. It was the third edition of scholarship awards.
