Sleiman: Rahi, Hariri express Lebanon’s real foreign policy

APRIL 29, 2015 (REFERRING TO THE NATIONAL NEWS AGENCY – LEBANON) Former president Michel Sleiman upped calls upon all forces to abide by the self dissociation policy from regional unrest, avowing that the social and economic security is just as important as fighting terrorism and controlling security.

He also hailed the stances of former Prime Minister Saad Hariri and Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Mar Beshara Boutros Rahi, whom he said they really conveyed Lebanon’s foreign policy, especially in their calls to end the current presidential vacuum.

He highly esteemed the matters broached by Hariri in Washington in terms of electing a new president of the republic, committing to Baabda Declaration, and fighting all sorts of Sunni and Shia extremism.

“We cannot exit the current crisis unless we adopt this trinity,” he said.
