Sleiman condemns Jabal Mohsen’s suicide bombings

JANUARY 10, 2015 (REFERRING TO THE NATIONAL NEWS AGENCY – LEBANON) Former President Michel Sleiman condemned in a statement Sunday’s “terrorist crime that killed innocent civilians in Tripoli,” adding that “no matter what, terrorism will not succeed in dragging Tripoli and its sons to civil strife that serves no Lebanese but rather the enemies of Lebanon, amidst such critical moments prevailing in the country, and in light of the required dialogue, perhaps leading to an ease in sectarian tensions, on one hand, and the election of a new president, on the other.”

Sleiman stressed “the need for unity to confront terrorism, in addition to solidarity and awareness, and working day and night to boost the common points between all parties, so as to confront the Daesh dangers,” adding that “Tripoli has a huge role in defeating sedition, and is inevitably still stronger than all painful bloodshed experiences.”
