FEBRUARY 13, 2015 (REFERRING TO THE NATIONAL NEWS AGENCY – LEBANON) Agriculture Minister, Akram Shuhayeb, met on Friday afternoon with Egyptian Minister of Trade and Industry, Mounir Fakhri Abdel-Nour, and Minister of Investment, Ashraf Salman, at the sidelines of the Lebanese-Egyptian Business Forum, currently taking place at the Phoenicia Hotel in Beirut.
Talks reportedly dwelt on means of bolstering bilateral relations at the agriculture, export and investment levels.
The meeting took place in the presence of Egyptian Ambassador to Lebanon, Mohammed Badreddine Zayed, Egyptian General Consul, Sherif El Bahrawy, and senior Embassy staff.
Minister Shuhayeb pointed out that Lebanon has exported 32 thousand tons of apples to Egypt, hoping further Egyptian support would be provided for the export of more apples.
The Minister also underlined the need for further supporting the Lebanese investments in Egypt and facilitating its related affairs.
Minister Salman, for his part, said that they “will follow all the procedures that will enhance bilateral relations, economic exchange, export control and investments’ development.”
Minister Abdel Nour also expressed Egyptian readiness to cooperate with Lebanon in the benefit of both countries’ welfare.
