OCTOBER 23, 2014 (REFERRING TO THE NATIONAL NEWS AGENCY – LEBANON) “Change and Reform” bloc member, Deputy Salim Salhab, on Thursday stressed that his bloc “won’t justify the extension of the Parliament’s mandate for any reasons,” asserting that they would vote against it.
He told the “Voice of Lebanon” radio that his bloc would take its final decision about attending or failure to attend the session next Tuesday.
“Failure to extend Parliament’s mandate would not mean that we are heading towards void, but it means we’re heading to hold presidential elections, the lawmaker said.
“There are no serious talks about the presidential issue and we doubt that the extension will speed up the election of a president,” the MP concluded.
