Salam welcomes Arab ministerial delegation, receives solidarity message with Lebanese government

JANUARY 12, 2015 (REFERRING TO THE NATIONAL NEWS AGENCY – LEBANON) Prime Minister Tammam Salam on Monday met with the Arab ministerial delegation, headed by Kuwaiti Foreign Minister, Sheikh Khaled al-Ahmad al-Sobah, at the Grand Serail.

Speaking to reporters in the wake of the meeting, the Kuwaiti official indicated that he had relayed to his host a message of solidarity with the Lebanese government, according to the recommendations and decisions of the recent Arab summit held in Kuwait.

“The decisions in question must be followed up closely in order to assure their implementation, especially in terms of Lebanon’s security and stability, as well as of supporting Lebanon in the face of Israeli greed and goals,” he said.

He also highlighted the importance of backing the Lebanese army and the country’s authorities in order to mitigate the burden inflicted upon Lebanon by the huge number of Syrian refugees.

“We finally hope that the next president of the Lebanese republic would be present among his counterparts during the forthcoming Arab summit to be held on March 28 in Cairo,” he concluded.
