Salam pays condolences to King of Jordan, utters utmost solidarity with Jordanian people

FEBRUARY 4, 2015 (REFERRING TO THE NATIONAL NEWS AGENCY – LEBANON) Prime Minister Tammam Salam condemned on Wednesday the murder of Jordanian pilot Moaz Kasasbeh, and called for a stance that rises to the challenge in the face of the obscurantist epidemic ravaging the region.

These remarks came in a message of condolence addressed to Jordan’s King Abdullah II, in which Salam said “with grief and sorrow we received the news of the crime committed by terrorists against the Jordanian pilot Moaz Kasasbeh.”

“On behalf of the Lebanese government and people, we present to you, to the family of the deceased and to Jordan’s brotherly people, our warmest condolences and highest feelings of solidarity and sympathy, assuring you that Lebanon as a whole shares your grief and your anger, especially as we have suffered and continue to suffer the acts of those terrorists who attacked the sovereignty of Lebanon, killed many of our sons, and kidnapped a number of military elements, among them 26 who are still in custody until today,” Salam said in his statement.
