FEBRUARY 10, 2015 (REFERRING TO THE NATIONAL NEWS AGENCY – LEBANON) Prime Minister Tammam Salam on Tuesday welcomed at the Grand Serail US Ambassador to Lebanon, David Hale, with whom he discussed the current general situation in the country and the broader Arab region.
He later met with Minister of Finance, Ali Hassan Khalil, with talks touching on the current situation prevailing on the local scene.
Salam also met today with Minister of Public Health, Wael Abu Faour over latest political developments.
Speaking to reporters following the meeting, the Minister highlighted the obligation to fill the presidential void and choose a new head of state in the nearest time possible “to pave the way for rectifying the political and constitutional life.”
“We do not know where the void, which has become a constitutional crisis, will lead us,” he said.
Separately, Salam received a delegation of the Central Maronite Council, headed by Wadih al-Khazen.
