Salam during Cabinet session: for election of new president

JANUARY 15, 2015 (REFERRING TO THE NATIONAL NEWS AGENCY – LEBANON) Prime Minister, Tammam Salam, reiterated the need for the election of a new president of the republic, hoping that the underway dialogue among the various political spectrum would facilitate such an election.

Premier Salam’s fresh words on Thursday came during his chairmanship of the Cabinet’s regular weekly session at the Grand Serail, to discuss items on its agenda.

Salam also commended the accomplishment by the Interior Minister and the Information Branch represented in the arrest of the person who was accused of killing the young man of the family of Naufal. Ministers Ghazi Zoaiter and Hussein Hajj Hassan also underlined the need for the implementation of the security plan in northern Bekaa.

The Council also hailed the outcome of the meeting- which took place yesterday at the residence of Minister Jumblatt, in the presence of Prince Talal Arslan, some ministers and local dignitaries- that ended in agreeing to the implementation of the plan approved by the Council of Ministers in relation to solid waste.

The Council of Ministers then looked into items on its agenda.
