Salam chairs meeting on oil dossier

December 11, 2015 (REFERRING TO THE NATIONAL NEWS AGENCY – LEBANON) Prime Minister, Tammam Salam, on Friday chaired at the Grand Serail a meeting to discuss oil dossier, in presence of Minister of Energy and Water Resources, Arthur Nazarian, a delegation of the Petroleum Administration Committee, and lawmakers, among whom Head of the Public Works House committee, Mohammad Qabbani.

“The meeting with Prime Minister Salam aims to activate the decrees on oil,” Nazarian told reporters following the talks.

“The importance of activating this dossier stems from what is happening in the region in terms of oil, especially between Israel, Cyprus, and Egypt,” he said.

He hence called to energize this dossier for the advantage of national economy and the needs of citizens, confirming that there is no disagreement at the Cabinet or at the Parliament in this regard.

For his side, MP Qabbani indicated that the project set by the Petroleum Administration Committee and passed by the Public Works committee was adopted by House Speaker, Nabih Berri, literally.

“The execution shall start with the meeting of the ministerial committee headed by Salam, with the participation of nine ministers, in order to approve the relevant decrees before forwarding them to the Cabinet,” he said.
