OCTOBER 27, 2014 (REFERRING TO THE NATIONAL NEWS AGENCY – LEBANON) Prime Minister, Tammam Salam, chaired on Monday morning a security meeting at the Grand Serail, in the presence of Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Samir Mokbel, Interior and Municipalities Minister, Nuhad Mashnouk, Justice Minister, Ashraf Rifi, Army Chief Jean Kahwagi and senior security officials.
The attendees stood a minute of silence to mourn the martyrs of the Army and civilians. They highlighted the latest security incidents in Tripoli and ways to confront them.
“The Cabinet rallies around the Lebanese Army in its battle against terrorists in a bid to strike them and restore security to Tripoli and the north,” the PM asserted.
Salam stressed the need to continue confronting terrorists regardless of their affiliation.
Salam said that he had requested of concerned ministries and the Supreme Commission for Relief to carry out their duties in this area and exert efforts to meet the needs of the people.
Also, the attendees tackled the pre-set military plans and took appropriate decisions.
