APRIL 20, 2015 (REFERRING TO THE NATIONAL NEWS AGENCY – LEBANON) Prime Minister Tammam Salam welcomed at the Grand Serail on Monday French Minister of Defense, Jean-Yves Le Drian, who briefed him on the already accomplished stages of the French weapons delivered to the Lebanese military, within the frame of the Saudi donation worth USD three billions.

The meeting took place in the presence of Minister Le Drian’s accompanying delegation, Deputy Prime Minister, Defence Minister Samir Moqbel and French Ambassador to Lebanon Patrice Paoli.

Le Drian underlined the deeply entrenched relations between Lebanon and France and the necessity of bolstering them in all fields.

“On this occasion, we affirm our pride in the brotherly relations between Lebanon and Saudi Arabia… and our commitment to cementing and keeping these relations away from all impurities,” said Salam.

Separately, Salam met with MP Marwan Hamadeh on top of a delegation of the “Baakline Poetry Forum” who extended to him an invitation to attend a poetry ceremony in honor of the Honorary President of the World Academy of Poetry, Kuwaiti Poet Abdel Aziz Saoud al-Babteen, upcoming May in Beirut.
