Saad calls for official, popular sit in pending election of President

FEBRUARY 10, 2015 (REFERRING TO THE NATIONAL NEWS AGENCY – LEBANON) “Democratic Gathering” MP Fouad Al-Saad, on Tuesday pushed Lebanon’s lawmakers to stage a sit-in at the House of Parliament, and asked nationals to stage a similar sit-in pending the election of new Lebanese President.

“The most painful view at the Lebanese scene is seeing the people adjust their lives to the reality of not having a president,” Saad said in a statement.

He criticized acts of rushing to Lebanese streets to remove political slogans and pictures, instead settling on an initiative to elect a president to truly salvage the nation out of the prevailing political impasse.
