Roman era relics, human remains found in Western Zawtar

FEBRUARY 22, 2015 (REFERRING TO THE NATIONAL NEWS AGENCY – LEBANON) Workers drilling in the public square of the town of Western Zawtar, south of the country, stumbled across relics and human remains presumed to date back to Roman times, NNA field correspondent said on Sunday.

The town’s mayor notified the governor of Nabatiyeh and all work came to a halt until an expert from the Directorate General of Antiquities could come and examine the findings.
