Rifi heads Lebanon’s Mission to the UN Conference on Crime Prevention in Qatar

APRIL 12, 2015 (REFERRING TO THE NATIONAL NEWS AGENCY – LEBANON) Justice Minister, Major General Ashraf Rifi, headed Sunday Lebanon’s Mission partaking in the United Nations 13th Conference on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice, taking place in Qatar between April 12th & 19th, 2015.

Qatari Prince, Sheikh Tamim ben Hamad Al Thani, inaugurated the Conference in presence of UN Secretary-General, Ban Ki-moon, and officials from the UN General Assembly, the Economic and Social Council and the UN Office for Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice in Vienna.

Attending the conference are more than 5,000 participants from 142 countries, and more than 110 official figures, including Heads of States, Interior and Justice Ministers and General Attorneys.

Minister Rifi will be giving a speech at the Conference opening ceremony, and will deliver a lecture on “national and international efforts in combating the financing of terrorism.” He will also hold a number of official meetings on the sidelines of the Conference.
