APRIL 25, 2015 (REFERRING TO THE NATIONAL NEWS AGENCY – LEBANON) Maronite Patriarch, Cardinal Bshara Butros al-Rai, met Saturday afternoon with Archbishop of Paris, Andre 23rd, with talks centering on the situation in the Middle East and the conditions of Syrian and Iraqi refugees in Lebanon.
Both men stressed on “the need to promote peace in the Middle East through dialogue between religions.”
Talks also touched on the situation in Lebanon and the long overdue presidential elections. The French Archbishop vowed to “support the Patriarch in his relentless efforts to ensure the election of a new Lebanese President the soonest possible.”
Archbishop Andre 23rd also promised to “pursue his efforts to help Lebanon overcome its crises through the aid and support of foreign institutions.”
