Rahi deplores condition of Lebanese society

FEBRUARY 1, 2015 (REFERRING TO THE NATIONAL NEWS AGENCY – LEBANON) Maronite Patriarch, Cardinal Beshara Boutros Rahi, lamented the situation of the Lebanese society, because of the lack of transparency, the waste of public funds and violation of rules and laws.

In his homily during Sunday Mass, the prelate likewise criticized prioritizing personal interests over Lebanon’s, and censured the way officials turn a deaf ear to the demands of civil servants.

In the words of the Patriarch, “we must break the cycle of corruption, preserve the treasury and provide job opportunities for Lebanese youth.”
