Raad: Insistence on refusing dialogue keeps presidential vacancy

JANUARY 19, 2015 (REFERRING TO THE NATIONAL NEWS AGENCY – LEBANON) MP Mohammad Raad saw that wasting time in refusing dialogue would keep the vacancy in presidency ongoing, calling for a “national understanding over the true national choice.”

Raad’s stance came Monday in the context of a religious ceremony in Harouf.

He explained that the ongoing failure to elect a president was the current balance at the Parliament between two sides: a side wanting a president in accordance with its logic, strategy and political visionary, and another side that opposes the strategy and vision of the former.

He thereupon called for a wide national dialogue to reach a national understanding and choice that serve the national interest.
