FEBRUARY 28, 2015 (REFERRING TO THE NATIONAL NEWS AGENCY LEBANON) Head of Loyalty to the Resistance Bloc, MP Mohammad Raad, called during a funeral of a Hezbollah member in the southern town of Harouf for the armament of the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF), considering any faltering to do so as “national treason and an assault on stability.”
Within the same context, Raad asserted the need to elect a president the soonest possible. He added that Cabinet’s work could not replace the need for a head of state.
On a more regional level, the MP said that the west was “begging for” a nuclear agreement with Iran, which could be on the way to a resolution. He noted that the main problem was with the way the US administration planned to market this agreement to its allies, particularly Israel.
“If the Islamic Republic of Iran approves this agreement, it will be a victory. If it doesn’t, it won’t be a disaster at all.”
