APRIL 7, 2015 (REFERRING TO THE NATIONAL NEWS AGENCY – LEBANON) Vice Prime Minister, National Defence Minister, Samir Moqbel, visited on Tuesday Army Commander General Jean Qahwaji, at his Yarzeh office, where he well-wished him on the Easter holiday.
The visit was a chance to dwell on the recent security developments in the country, especially the qualitative operation carried out by the army in the terrains of Ras Baalbeck.
Talks also reportedly dwelt on the requisite needs of the military institution.
Separately, General Qahwaji met with the Commander of Special Forces in the US Central Command, Gen. Michael Nagata, in the presence of the US Ambassador to Lebanon, David Hale.
Talks reportedly dwelt on cooperation between the armies of the two countries, especially the training of special battalions in the Lebanese army and their equipment.
