Qabalan pushes Lebanese politicians to swiftly elect president

JANUARY 16, 2015 (REFERRING TO THE NATIONAL NEWS AGENCY – LEBANON) Senior Islamic Shiite Council Deputy Head, Sheikh Abdul Emir Qabalan, on Friday urged politicians to elect a president who works for the country’s best interest.

“Lebanon is subject to challenges and conspiracies, a thing which requires of citizens to join ranks and fortify national unity,” he said as calling for a president who sets a role model and good example for the entire country.

In his Friday sermon the Shiite cleric went on to congratulate the Lebanese Army and security forces for their massively successful accomplishments exposing and foiling terror schemes. He also thanked Interior Minister, Nouhad Mashnouk, for his relentless endeavors.
