MUSCAT: Pakistan School Muscat (PSM) will organise a cultural show on Thursday and a food festival on May 1 to raise funds for expansion.

Renowned Pakistani pop singer Abrar ul Haq will perform at the show. Adnan Shehzad, chairman of Board of Directors, PSM, said, “We are expecting more than 5,000 people at the cultural show this year. Our cultural shows have received great response from different communities in the past and we are expecting this year’s event to be bigger and better.”

The show will begin at 7pm and entry fee is RO3.

Shehzad said that the school needs money to build 18 new classrooms in the junior block, a centre for education, a library and a special education centre. “There are plans to extend hostel facilities.

“We are increasing the number of classrooms to accommodate more students. The estimated project cost is between RO400,000 and RO500,000. We are in the process of getting approvals and hope to start work on the project soon and complete it by 2016.”

The school will organise a food festival on May 1. Food aficionados will be able to treat themselves to authentic Pakistani cuisine at the event. Attaullah Niazi, senior principal, Pakistan schools in Oman, said, “We take this opportunity to invite people of different communities to enjoy the traditional cuisine of our country.”

Food stalls at the festival will sell items like chicken tikka, chappli kabab, pani puri,, channa chat and dahi barahy.

Entry ticket to food festival, which will begin at 7pm, is 300bz.
