Pharoun kicks off Batroun International Festival: 25% tourism growth compared to last year

APRIL 15, 2015 (REFERRING TO THE NATIONAL NEWS AGENCY – LEBANON) Tourism Minister Michel Pharoun kicked off on Wednesday the International Batroun Festivals, in the presence of Ministry Director General Nada Sardouk, National News Agency (NNA) Director Laure Sleiman, Batroun Municipality Head Marcelino al-Hark, International Batroun Festivals’ Committee Chairman Sayed Fayyad, and scores of concerned local dignitaries.

Minister Pharoun disclosed that 2015 witnessed 25% growth in the tourism movement compared to last year, anticipating “promising” festivities this summer.

Pharoun called on all the Lebanese to partake in the festivities taking place in the region of Batroun and across all the Lebanese territories.

Nada Sardouq, Tourism Ministry Director General, said: “These festivals aim to promote tourism in the region of Batroun and its surroundings within the Ministry’s strategy”.

“Batroun Festivals seek to highlight the touristic features of the region of Batroun,” Municipality Head al-Hark said, saluting media efforts in covering festivals’ activities.

Fayyad, Head of the International Batroun Festivals’ Committee, announced the Festival’s program, which shall start upcoming August 1st, 2015, with the holding of a concert by the internationally- renowned artist Charles Aznavour in partnership with Events Synopsis Company.
