JANUARY 11, 2015 (REFERRING TO THE NATIONAL NEWS AGENCY – LEBANON) MP Samir Jisr called Sunday on the people of Tripoli to “demonstrate patience and self-restraint, to avoid being affected by rumors and to show solidarity with the army against terrorism.”
MP Jisr’s words came during an extraordinary meeting which took place at his residence, attended by Justice Minister, Major General Ashraf Rif, and Social Affairs Minister, Rashid Derbas; as well as MPs Mohammed Abdel-Latif Kabbara and Badr Wannous, and “Future Movement” Coordinator in Tripoli, former Deputy Mustafa Alloush, and Adviser to former PM Saad Hariri in the North, Abdul- Ghani Kabbara.
In an issued statement following the meeting, participants denounced the “horrible crime that targeted innocent civilians in Jabal Mohsen,” considering it as a “sedition plot against the city of Tripoli and its people, after it had enjoyed safety and stability following the completion of the security plan in early October.”
The statement stressed “rejection of all terrorist acts in any part of Lebanon, as well as in the world at large,” declaring that “no excuse to justify terrorism and murder here and there is ever acceptable.”
