APRIL 24, 2015 (REFERRING TO THE NATIONAL NEWS AGENCY – LEBANON) Tashnag’s Agob Pakradounian on Friday told a ceremony to commemorate the centennial of the Armenian genocide in Burj Hammoud that the Turkish authorities must recognize their responsibilities for this crime and compensate the human, economic, and moral casualties.
“The world’s countries, on top of which the US and Turkey, the legal heir of the Ottoman Sultanate, bear the huge responsibility of refreshing memory,” the lawmaker said.
Pakradounian also called the Arab states to recognize Turkey’s responsibility for the genocide.
“The Turkish dream shall not come true. We are here and we will stay here. We meet to remember. (…) impunity leads to further crimes,” he indicated.
