Nicholas: Extending military mandate strikes army institution

APRIL 27, 2015 (REFERRING TO THE NATIONAL NEWS AGENCY – LEBANON) MP Nabil Nicholas, from the Bloc of Reform and Change, on Monday voiced rejection to extending the mandate of military officers as it strikes the military institution, explaining that the bloc “is leading a legal front prone to resist those who want to eliminate the nation, its entity and laws.”

Nicholas’s stance came Monday in the context of a televised interview.

He said that there should never be any correlation between the presidential post and the army leadership as “the former is political and the latter is relevant to security.”
