MUSCAT: National Bank of Oman (NBO) announced the launch of its state-of-the-art mobile banking app during a special ceremony at Muscat Grand Mall (MGM) on Saturday.

The new mobile banking application, which will be available to customers across Oman on IOS and Android in Arabic and English, provides a full range of leading banking services including EZ pay and One Click Balance Solution, a press release said.

EZ pay is a unique service that is being introduced for the first time in the sultanate which will enable customers to transfer funds to a mobile number. The One Click Balance Solution will help customers view their account balance without even logging into their account.

Ahmed al Musalmi, chief executive officer, NBO, said, “Today marks another major milestone in our digital leadership journey and we are delighted to announce the launch of our new mobile banking app. National Bank of Oman is committed to investing in technological innovations to deliver customer service excellence across all its customer touchpoints. It is important that customers can access their finances and key banking services anywhere and at any time. This is exactly what the next-generation mobile banking app has been designed for.”

In addition, by using the NBO mobile banking app customers can make local and international transfers, check utility bills and settle outstanding payments online. They can also make online credit card enquiries, apply for products and services, view special offers, ATM and branch locations, prayer timings, foreign exchange and deposit rates, and also use the app’s loan calculators.

“The mobile banking app has a number of powerful features which allow customers to have full control of their personal finances. For the first time in Oman, our customers can now enjoy a new and very unique way of transferring funds directly to a mobile number through our EZ pay service available on the app. Our team of talented digital experts will continue to build on, and enhance, the mobile banking platform to ensure that customers always have access to industry-leading features and services and can enjoy a unique and superior banking experience,” Musalmi added.

The launch event was led by brand ambassador Ahmed al Harthy as well as members of NBO’s senior management team.
