MUSCAT: In recognition of its commitment and continuous support to the sports sector in Oman, National Bank of Oman (NBO) recently received a certificate of appreciation from the Ministry of Sports Affairs during an official ceremony held under the auspices of H E Sheikh Saad bin Mohammed al Mardouf al Saadi, Minister of Sports Affairs at Grand Hyatt Muscat.
A number of undersecretaries, presidents of sports clubs and corporate representatives were also present during the event.
Hassan Abdul Amir Shaban, head of government banking and business synergies at NBO received the certificate on behalf of the bank.
Shaban said, “NBO is committed to supporting the sports sector. We appreciate the efforts made by the Ministry of Sports Affairs and its employees who are doing their best to promote all kinds of sports in Oman. We, at the bank, sincerely believe that we have a responsibility to contribute to our community.”
Since its inception 42 years ago, NBO continues to lend full support to various national events in the economic, tourism and sports sectors. Some examples include the NBO Golf Classic event, which has promoted the sultanate to a global audience and put the sultanate on the world golf map.
The bank has also supported a number of local sports activities and athletes, including the bank’s brand ambassador, Ahmed al Harthy, Oman’s top racing driver and one of the region’s leading international sportsmen.
