MUSCAT: ‘Following recent media reports concerning the quality of the National Mineral Water Co (NMWC) brands of drinking water NMWC places on public record that the products of Tanuf, El Jabal El Akhdar and Salsabeel waters are completely safe to consume.

Reports that the naturally occurring “bromate” levels were reputedly to be above safe levels, as recommended by the World Health Organization and the Ministry of Regional Municipalities and Water Resources, are grossly incorrect and fully refuted by NMWC.

This assertion is supported by independent laboratory testing of the same sampled items that records the levels to be significantly lower than the required maximum of ten parts per billion.

The independent laboratory is a recognised international laboratory fully approved by the Ministry of Regional Municipalities and Water Resources.

NMWC applies the highest standards of safety and quality to all its production of all brands and undertakes systematic daily testing in compliance with the GSO 1025-2009 standards as well as undertaking external testing of its products to ensure that the company standards for quality are independently monitored at all times.

NMWC has been bottling and producing its brands for more than 35 years and throughout this time NMWC has rigorously applied international quality standards and will continue to do so.
