Nadim Gemayel: Dialogue releases tensions

JANUARY 24, 2015 (REFERRING TO THE NATIONAL NEWS AGENCY – LEBANON) MP Nadim Gemayel told Voice of Lebanon on Saturday that dialogue among conflicting factions lessens the pressure, but is not intended to produce a president.

He called for electing a president for the republic the soonest possible in order to fend off political and security challenges as well as socio-economic ones. On that note, he hoped that head of Change and Reform Bloc, MP Michel Aoun, would take the right decision and give up his “selfish” desire to be president against all odds.

“Hezbollah has a political interest in hindering presidential elections and has placed Aoun in the forefront, and this is unacceptable behavior that does not suit a state’s man.”
