FEBRUARY 28, 2015 (REFERRING TO THE NATIONAL NEWS AGENCY LEBANON) Environment Minister Mohammad Al-Mashnouk disclosed on Saturday that a solution starts to appear regarding the cabinet’s file, pointing out that this would be crystallized during the coming week.
Mashnouk said that Prime Minister Tammam Salam’s insistence on reaching agreement without disrupting governmental work is the only solution for the council of ministers to carry on their duties.
The minister confirmed to “Sawt Al-Mada” radio station that the failure to elect a new president is not the responsibility of the cabinet, calling upon concerned parties to find a compromise over the presidential file which protects Lebanon.
The minister said “there are two parties in the country each of them nominates a person for the presidency and the various existing dialogues between them aim at bringing points of view together in this context.”
