Ministers arrive at Grand Serail, confirm discussions over waste crisis

July 30, 2015 (REFERRING TO THE NATIONAL NEWS AGENCY – LEBANON) State Minister for Administrative Development, Nabil De Freij, on Thursday confirmed upon his arrival to the Grand Serail that “whoever refuses to discuss the waste crisis, should be placed in trash himself.”

In turn, Environment Minister, Nouhad Mashnouk, explained that the cabinet session would dwell on updates concerning the waste file, and would hold a meeting in the afternoon to further discuss the matter.

For her part, Displaced Minister, Alice Shabtini said, “the situation is not comforting at all.”

Tourism Minister, Michel Pharaon, confirmed discussions over a consensus mechanism away from disruption. “We will also discuss the waste crisis,” he added.

Information Minister, Ramzi Jreij, affirmed that the waste crisis tops any other and shall dominate the cabinet’s discussions. “Talks will also focus on the cabinet’s work mechanism,” he added.

For his part, Sports and Youth Minister, Abdul Mattaleb Hennawi, said, “We will discuss a rapprochement, but I think discussions will end up being postponed.”

In turn, Agriculture Minister, Akram Chehayeb said, “We will start with discussions over the waste crisis, and continue talks concerning appointments,” he added.

Finally, Social Affairs Minister, Rachid Derbas, said in response to a question about the arrest of the guy who attacked his car two days ago, “I didn’t file a complaint against anyone, but there’s a public right that’s taking its course.”
